The technological processes
By Group 1
The technological processes have changed over the years and are still changing now. The
building industry is the best example. A man power was one used to transport building
materials to the building site. Nowadays, a man uses machines for that purpose. A long time
ago, stone, wood or iron was used as a primary building material. Now, we already have
various metal alloys and modern building facilities. The pyramids were built up from
sandstone and stone. At the beginning, it was necessary to work these materials in mines
with the help of pickaxe or other tools. Egyptians used wooden structures in order to move
huge stones to the building site. In order to lift the stone to the higher segment of the
pyramid, they used ramps. To pull the stone to the building site papyrus ropes were used.
Nowadays, there are lifts and lorries or other facilities of this type to our use which speed up
and ease most of the work.
We can also compare the style of building houses now and then. In the past, stone,
hay, rocks and clay were used as a primary building materials. Those houses were
far less durable than modern houses. Now the houses are built of bricks, cement
(in order to join bricks together). There are also prettier, more durable and better
building materials to our disposal. In order to build the block of flats, we use
machines of different type so that everything is long-lasting and didn't undergo
the corruption.
In my opinion, even if people didn't have a modern technology before were more
developed both mentally and physically than they are now. Everything what they
were building was based on their calculations, vast knowledge and putting forth
effort in the building process. Now everything is mechanized and people doesn't
feel much like doing anything - all they have to do is to access the Internet and
find what they want. The technology is developing all the time and really nobody
knows how we will live in 100 - 200 years from now, and how we are going to build
houses.
