Maintenance

Check for cracks and burrs
File any burrs on blades
Ensure blades are secure
Remove rust with wire wheel
or brush
• Clean with warm soapy
water
• Dry thoroughly
• Apply thin coat of WD40 to
prevent rusting

• Ensure keys move freely
• Ensure keys are not bent

• Wear appropriate PPE
– Minimum of helmet, gloves, and eye
protection
• Full turnouts and SCBA are required when
utilizing the tool in an IDLH atmosphere or
when making entry into a possible IDLH
atmosphere
• Check surroundings prior to using tool
• Ensure the tool is the right tool for the job
