Advantages
• All force transferred directly to point of impact due to
internally sliding ram bar
• Effective in narrow or crowded hallways

Uses
• Single person forcible
entry
– Prying doors
– Gaining purchase
points
– Pulling/ shearing

– Breaking locks
– Utility shut off
Maintenance
• Clean with warm soapy water and rinse
• Dry completely
• Coat interior ram with WD-40 to prevent rusting
Safety
• Wear appropriate PPE
– Minimum of helmet, gloves, and eye protection
• Full turnouts and SCBA are required when utilizing tool
in an IDLH atmosphere or when making entry into a
possible IDLH atmosphere
• Check surroundings prior to using tool
• Ensure the tool is the right tool for the job
• Utilize proper hand placement to avoid the “pinch-point”
