Use
• Breach walls and
ceilings
– Optimal for lath and
plaster
• Ventilation and
forcible entry
– Breaking windows
• Prying

Check for burrs or other damage
Clean with mild soap and water
Remove rust with wire wheel or brush
Apply a thin coat of WD40 to any non painted
metal surfaces
• May paint black to prevent rusting
• Keep handle wrapped with black cloth tape
Safety
• Wear appropriate PPE
– Minimum of helmet, gloves, and eye
protection
• Full turnouts and SCBA are required when
utilizing tool in an IDLH atmosphere or
when gaining entry into a possible IDLH
atmosphere
• Check surroundings prior to using tool
• Ensure the tool is the right tool for the job
