Formed in May 2004
Funded by grants from the four UK funding bodies
and subscriptions from higher education institutions.
The Academy's mission is to help institutions,
discipline groups and all staff to provide the best
possible learning experience for their students.
What are Subject Centres?
There are 24 subject centres forming the subject
network of the Higher Education Academy
Engineering is based at Loughborough University
Physical Sciences is based at the University of Hull
Share good practices between colleagues
Provide support for learning and teaching activities
Providing discipline-based opportunities for the
professional development of staff in Universities
