Student Email:

Board policy states that all Staff and Students are required to use
email accounts provided by WCPSS for school-related electronic
communication.
 Student email accounts are provisioned by Central Office on a
school-wide basis. Accounts are separated by grade level, (not
teacher or classroom assignment).
 Accounts are managed by each school’s Lotus SubAdmin, who is provided
training material designed to facilitate the management of Staff and Student
email accounts.
 Requests for account provisioning should first flow through your school’s Lotus
SubAdmin. In absence of someone appointed this role, requests may be
submitted via the Help Desk and should include each student's School, Grade
Level, NC WISE ID#, and Last/First/Middle names.
*Lotus Notes SubAdmin—A person at the school that has been given the tools to manage
student and staff email.
Problem:
 “Why does it take
so long to process
support requests
for Student email?”
Because most requests do not include
the GRADE the student is enrolled in,
causing delay while support looks up the
additional information for each student.
For maximum efficiency, requests for
support on Student email issues should
include:
 School
 Grade
 Student Name
 Lotus -or- NCWISE ID
Problem:
 “Students receive
error messages when
they try to log into
their email at
webmail.wcpss.net .”
Students must log into their email at
http://webmail.students.wcpss.net

of student email
account
information?”

SubAdmins can now easily export
lists of student login ID’s and
passwords from the MyStudents
tool, by clicking on the export CSV
link in the upper-right corner of the
browser window.
No SubAdmin—request must be
submitted to the Help Desk for
Lotus Support team to process.
