Geography
Total land area 9,596,960 sq km
slightly smaller than the US
Climate - extremely diverse; tropical
in south to subarctic in north
Food
Eat rice everyday.
Put the rice in soup covered with
sauce and/or they serve it with
vegetables
Kids like sunflowers, pumpkin seeds
and nuts for a quick snack
Holidays
Different than other countries
Each year during the Spring Festival China
turns into one big party
Spring Festival is a celebration of the New
Year which usually falls sometime in
January or February because China uses
the lunar calendar
Everyone goes home to be with their
family, they light up fireworks, join in
colorful parades, and prepare huge feasts.
Kids get money, new clothes and other
gifts

Games and Sports
People crowd around the television to
watch matches and most boys learn
to play when they’re young
Kids also like table tennis, swimming,
and badminton
Girls Tango Pi Jinn, and jump rope
games with teams.
School
Education is very important in the Chinese Culture
Kids feel pressure to do well in school
Students take test to decide who gets in good
schools
No homework and spend more time in school than
most American children
Each day before classes start kids gather outside
and exercise.
Students are expected to respect and obey their
teachers
Some rural children go to school for a few years
and then drop out.
