GRAZIE!
Alla luce dei molti modi in cui ho ricevuto gli
auguri di Pasqua quest'anno, posso sinceramente
dire grazie a tutti voi! Sono anche estremamente
grato ai molti parrocchiani che svolgono vari
ministeri che fanno parte della nostra vita
parrocchiale.
Fr Michael
RITO DELL'ASPERSIONE
All'inizio di tutte le nostre messe
domenicali durante la stagione di
Pasqua, avremo il rito
dell'aspersione come ricordo del
nostro battesimo e delle promesse
battesimali.
maggio.
venerdì a St Ambrose’s. Ora, dopo queste messe,
torniamo all'esposizione del Santissimo
Sacramento con preghiera silenziosa per mezz'ora.

nostra parrocchia. Siamo profondamente grati per
la generosità di tutti coloro che volontariamente
offrono questo servizio. Anche se siete già
ministri, siete calorosamente invitati a venire a
questo incontro.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good,
his love is everlasting.
Let the children of Israel say:
‘His love has no end.’
Let the children of Aaron say:
‘His love has no end.’
Let those who fear the Lord say:
‘His love has no end.’
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the corner stone.
This is the work of the Lord,
a marvel in our eyes.
This day was made by the Lord;
we rejoice and are glad.
O Lord, grant us salvation;
O Lord grant success.
Blessed in the name of the Lord
is he who comes.
We bless you from the house of the Lord;
the true God is our light.

BELIEVING THOMAS
The disciple Thomas has received a pretty raw
deal from history. The phrase, doubting Thomas,
has found its way into our everyday language and
condemns Thomas as the one who wouldn’t take
the word of his fellow disciples but wanted to see
the Risen Lord himself. However, rather than
remembering Thomas for his doubt, we should
remember Thomas as the one who makes the
extraordinary declaration of faith, ‘My Lord and
my God!’ It is Thomas, alone
amongst all those who recognise
the greatness of Jesus across the
four gospels, who acknowledges
Jesus as not just the Messiah, but
God.
By the time the Gospel of John was
written – in the last decade of the
1st Century – there were already diverse beliefs
about Jesus. As is recorded in the gospels, there
were those who regarded Jesus as one of the
prophets of Israel; others recognised him as the
promised Messiah; others still had come to believe
in Jesus the Christ as the incarnation of God. That
is certainly the theology expressed in the Gospel
of John. Perhaps as a means to further his
community’s theology and correct other ideas,
the gospel writer has Thomas declare, ‘My Lord
and my God! – Greg Sunter
THANK YOU
For the many ways that I have received Easter
wishes this year, may I sincerely say thanks to all
of you!! I am also very grateful for the many
parishioners who carry out the varied ministries
that are part of our parish life.
Fr Michael
THE RITE OF SPRINKLING
At the beginning of all our
Sunday Masses throughout the
Season of Easter, we will have
the Rite of Sprinkling as a
reminder of our own baptism
and our baptismal promises.
May this sacramental sign of
sprinkling with the Easter water call us to a
renewed faith and life in Christ.
THE EASTER SEASON AHEAD
From the Easter Triduum that we celebrated last
week, we now move into the glorious Season of
Easter — a 50-day season that concludes on
Pentecost Sunday, 15 May. It is a season during
which we deepen our faith in Christ risen. It is a
time to renew our baptismal faith, as we are
sprinkled with the baptismal water during the
Sundays of Easter, and it is a time to recommit
ourselves to living the Gospel more fully. Easter is
the song in our hearts that cannot stay silent!
Ministers to the sick in our
parish. We are deeply grateful
for the generosity of all who
volunteered. If you already take
Communion to the sick, you are
also warmly invited to come along to this
gathering.
EASTER WATER
During the Easter season, those who
wish to take home some of the blessed
Easter water are invited to bring a small
bottle and take some of the water.
EASTER RAFFLE – LAST CALL!
If you still have your tickets, please
check them. If no winners have
come forward by the end of this
week (and most of us have already
thrown our tickets away) the
