Malcolm Ellis began MOM duty on 17 April
He replaces Marco Apollonio (14 March-17 April)
Marco has done an outstanding job, lots of work and lots of fun,
many successes. He thinks he was lucky, we think he deserved it.
Malcolm’s missions:
1. Commission complete beam line:
Q1-Q3, decay solenoid, Q4-Q6, Q7-Q9
2. Run MICE beam line in parasitic mode during normal ISIS operations
and investigate how to increase number of protons on target
3. Commission detectors (TOF0, TOF1, KL)

Vittorio Palladino replaced Maurizio Bonesini as Chair of speakers bureau
Maurizio Bonesini replaced Vittorio Palladino as MICE INFN representative
SW: there will be a meeting next week 29 april to distribute tasks
among Fermilab, Trieste, Gva
RFCC construction: there will be a review on 4 June at the
collaboration meeting

MICE PHASE II WAS OFFICIALLY APPROVED
We will receive written confirmation asap.
Dan Kaplan got prolongation of NSF grant for 3 years (100k$ per year)
MICE - Japan:
We, the MICE-Japan group, are pleased to inform you that we have
received funding for MICE of a few 100k euro for 3 years (from 2008 to
2010). We will contribute to MICE more than ever and will be able to
construct LH2 absorbers and others.
