Background
 For effective public policy and private sector actions to promote
energy efficiency, it is essential to establish internationally
recognized energy efficiency test procedures and
methodologies to define and measure energy efficiency.
 While much energy efficiency standardization work has already
been done, a great deal still remains to do.
 This workshop brings together leading policymakers,
standardization professionals and key private sector actors to
discuss how to accelerate progress in energy efficiency
standardization.

Goals and outcomes
 This workshop explores the key technical, policy and
administrative themes pertaining to energy efficiency
standardization in all energy usage sectors including transport
sector.
 This workshop also aims to animate discussion and draw
conclusions that can be fed into relevant high-level international
processes including:



2009 G8 Summit in Italy
UNFCCC's COP-15 meeting in Copenhagen
International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC)

Request to WP.29
 WP.29 has been playing the most important role in making test
procedures and regulations for road transport sector.
 Therefore the IEA would like to invite a WP.29 representative to
give a presentation in the session of "ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF
TRANSPORTATION".
