About AMS REALTIME
 AMS REALTIME is a very flexible project/resource/earned value
management software solution with many built-in core components
and features that are access-controlled by the System Admin.
 Integrated task status reporting, accurate data transfer with
Microsoft Project files, Critical Path Management, Risk Analysis,
Earned Value Management, Baseline and Custom Revision captures,
and Baseline Change Controls are some features that were
developed specifically for complex business needs.
 AMS REALTIME includes a high-performance database that is
optimized for very large, complex integrated projects and can be
implemented rapidly. Version upgrades don’t require redesign.
 Compared to similar high-end enterprise software, the cost to
implement, license and maintain is significantly less, and the
software is intuitive and easy to learn so ROI can be
realized quickly through measurable goals and metrics.
Enterprise Server & Clients
An Enterprise add-in menu

parallel, minimizing
transition risk.
The Enterprise Server handles
communication from all clients.
Remote Shared Collaboration
is peer-to-peer.

Python APIs provide for
customized data export,
scripting and metrics
Portfolio tab can be used to sort, filter and open a discrete set
of projects together. Project summary metrics help managers
identify projects that are in trouble or need attention.

Projects can be grouped under a Program. If a Program is
selected, the Project selection list contains just those
projects. Choose All Projects to open an entire Program.
Interproject network links can be created
between tasks in different projects,
whether both are open together or not.
A rich set of analysis and viewing tools provides schedule,
resource usage, costs, and earned value data all together.

Options
Security Access rights allow detailed control over data access and
software functionality by named roles. Make as many roles as you need.
Data: Which projects can I see?
Which tables can I see?
Which fields in the table can I see, and
what can I edit?
Software function: What functional tabs
can I see? What can I do in each tab?
Can I assign resources, or just view them?
Can I edit and save data, or just view?
Users with different Access roles will see different functionality,
and users with the same access role may see different data.
Individual users can setup preferences for font, default layout and other options.
Project owners can also make security access overrides (add or reduce access)
for their project for specific users, departments, roles, or all system users.
Path To and Path From easily shows the predecessors and successors for a
specific task. Path Numbers are identified when multiple paths lead to a task.
Identifying the top five (or more) Critical Paths can help manage risk.
The Path To and
Path From
dialog also
allows sorting,
matching,
views, and
other tools to
view and
analyze the
project data.
Using Track Changes provides color–coded tracking of all changes made
during the session. It helps Project Managers keep track of each change
and allows individual review before saving back to the project.
Track Changes can also be used to highlight the changes when merging an updated
project copy into the live project plan. For example, if a copy of a project plan was given
to a contractor for update in MSP format, the updated plan can be committed into the
Enterprise and Merged with Track Changes on to highlight / review the project updates.
Project Managers can use the color-coded backgrounds and the
ACD_Flag field to identify tasks that have changed, and use the Review
Changes option to go to each change and Accept / Reject it. Changes to
the Activity Calculations, Network Links, and Resource Assignments can
be separately reviewed. Options to Accept All, Reject All, and Revert
back to the last saved project are also available.
Added, Changed and Deleted Tasks are easily identified.
Multiple Revisions provide snapshot captures of activities in
the project over time, including Dates, Descriptions, Calendar,
and other user-defined fields. Revisions are not limited.
Up to three revisions can be graphically compared against the
current plan at a time, and activity date is colored blue if it is
better, or red if it is worse. Right-clicking on data that has
changed will show the previous revision values, where
background colors match the revision bar colors in the Gantt.
Change Requests allows ‘what-if’ changes to be defined against
the current project plan. Changes can be reviewed (based on
access rights) and approved / rejected. Approved changes can
then be merged into the live project. The live project can continue
to get status updates, and the approved change request will be
integrated into the current project plan when it’s ready.
Differences are color-coded (blue is better, red is worse). Activity rows that
have changed are marked with blue, added are green, and deleted are gray.
Sandbox provides a less formal ‘what-if’ area to test out alternate
project planning strategies. The sandbox area does not negatively
affect global resource pools or reports. When a sandbox project
plan comes together and is good, it can be merged into the original
project using Track Changes for a final review of each difference.
Monte Carlo Risk Analysis Tools provide Gaussian, Uniform, Triangular, and
Log Normal distribution algorithms for individual tasks or the entire project.
Store parameters in preset profiles. Apply default parameters to the whole
project, or apply different risk profiles to specific tasks. Add correlation factors to
link risk results in the calculation. Show spread of resource hours or cost.
Results can be printed to paper, clipboard, PDF, Metafile or Powerpoint files.
Standard Procedures with specific steps can be defined to track the
requirements necessary to complete a task. Steps can have weights
defined that are used to calculate the Percent Complete progress value.
Timecard provides users with a view of their scheduled work, and
the ability to record time spent on project and non-project work.
Users can record comments, update ETC, and submit for approval.
Status tab is used by Activity Owners (IPTs / CAMs) to report status updates
on all their activities across all projects. Actual Start, Actual Finish, % Complete,
Comments, and other fields can be updated from this screen and
submitted for Project Manager review.
Project Managers can load status and review changes before accepting them.
Python (a scripting language similar to C++ or Java) can be used to extend the
product functionality by tying scripts to events, buttons or menu items.
Python can
be used to
create metric
spreadsheets,
process data,
and import /
export data
to integrate
with external
applications.
For example,
a progress

value status
file can be
