ASSET MANAGEMENT
LOCO SHED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)
As desired by Board, report on LMS & SLAM was forwarded to Railway Board on
29.5.2014. It is important that the roll-out of LMS is sanctioned early. Expenditure is
being incurred on maintenance of the pilot system and the discontinuity between the
sanction of the pilot and the roll-out is leading to unlearning and cost overruns without
commensurate benefits being realized. The revised estimate is also with board for
sanction. O&M estimate for 2014-15 amounting to Rs. 84.85 lakhs has been sent to
CME/NR. It is requested that Revised Estimate of the pilot and roll-out project of
LMS be sanctioned early by Board.
FREIGHT MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT MODULE (FMM)
Roll-out of the Freight Maintenance Management System is awaiting Board’s
sanction. It is important that the project is sanctioned early with a view to avoid cost
overruns on account of pilot maintenance. The revised estimate of FMM pilot is also
with board for sanction. In addition, O&M Estimate amounting to Rs.2.25 Crs. for the
period of 2012-13 to 2014-15 has been submitted to FOIS for sanction. It is requested
that Revised Estimate of the pilot and roll-out project of FMM be sanctioned early by
Board.
