Purpose for Integration Review



To evaluate existing WisDOT Traffic Operations
organizational functionality, operations, ITS
maintenance, and technical capacities
Identify opportunities for program structure efficiencies,
improved resource utilization, potential cost-savings, and
streamlining processes and methodologies
Timing was key opportunity



New WisDOT Bureau of Traffic Operations
New State Administration
Focused approach to resource needs, operational synergy, and
linking traffic operations to broader economic sustainability
issues
Process to Develop the Strategic Plan




Incorporated key synergies from concurrent initiatives
Relevant documentation were reviewed
Stakeholders were included in reviews, one-on-one
meetings, and workshops
Two stand-alone documents were prepared



STOC Operations Model Assessment
ITS Maintenance Program Review
Relevant recommendations from these efforts have been
carried forward into the Integration Review Strategic
Plan
