Programs and Activities Vic Ilic John Hawkins Bill Bees Vince Dilworth Sarah DePaula June 12, 2007
Recommendation
• P&A needs to create a mechanism to develop and promote successful programs and activities to all units. P&A must develop ways to better communicate with units and encourage units to communicate better with each other.
2
Initiative Overview
• Initiative: Create a means of evaluating unit programs and activities, including establishing a source of data of activities held by units (both successes and failures), develop a way to evaluate what worked and didn’t work and communicate the observations to all of the units.
3
Initiative Overview
• Rationale: To encourage the development of programs and activities for members that enhances the technical competence of members and encourages participation.
4
Assumptions/Risks
Assumptions: People will be willing to share with all the other units, their experience with P & A, both those that worked and didn’t work. Also, that the unit will take the time to discuss the results in detail.
5
Assumptions/Risks
Risks/Obstacles: People won’t shear their experiences. That the database won’t be useful. That the database will be difficult to find and utilize. That P & A won’t get funding to develop the database.
