disadvantaged students.
The program is intended to help ensure that all students meet
Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

• Provide professional development for teachers
• Promote parent education and involvement

• Schools in the Elk Grove Unified School District are ranked according to
this percentage, and schools receive a certain amount of money per
student.
• 1% of a school’s total Title I budget must be set aside for parent
involvement activities.
• A minimum of 10% of a school in Program Involvement must set aside
for professional development
• Funds must SUPPLEMENT, not SUPPLANT services already provided by
the school district.
The Title I Parent Involvement Policy
• Every Title I school, in collaboration with parents, must prepare a
site level parent involvement policy.
• The Parent Involvement Policy describes how the school will
involve parents in the planning, review, and improvement of the
Title I program at their school, and it will do so in an organized,
ongoing, and timely fashion.
The Home/School Compact
