as a result of Health and Social Care Bill

To be the champion of patients, people using services, carers and the
wider public both locally and nationally
GP Consortia

GP consortia will have a duty to involve patients in decisions
and will need to engage them in both purchasing and delivery
of service

Bay Wide Consortia GPCC - (General Practice Commissioning
Consortium) already established in Torbay


Duty to engage is not an option for service providers – need to make it
count

Public and patient involvement be at the heart of service delivery will
need to establish relationships with the Local LINK/HealthWatch

Local HealthWatch will in turn provide evidence about local communities
and their needs and aspirations, in order to design and develop services.
