• The closing date for applications was Sunday 30 June and we have been
delighted by the response
• Jenner :unlimited funded places – 158 applications received
– still open to receive more
• Seacole : 400 funded places over 2 intakes - 190 applications
received
• Anderson : 40 funded places – 101 applications received
• Bevan : 20 funded places – 40 applications received
• Organisation Leadership leads are currently checking and prioritising
applicants for us and the Academy are seeking additional funding for more
places.
• Thank you to everyone who has supported this recruitment – we are
delighted and will do what we can to secure as many funded places as
possible
We have been offering the next dates for these popular
programmes and places are filling up fast
Meanwhile, some concern has been expressed about the
lack of diversity amongst the first cohorts so we are
considering how we might ensure that these
opportunities are made available to a diverse range of
applicants. Any ideas gratefully received!

The NHS Leadership Expo planned for 9 September is
now being renamed and moved to coincide with the
National Leadership Awards – Now called The
Leadership Difference it is likely to follow the National
Leadership awards currently planned for Monday 24 Feb
and will therefore take place on Tuesday 25th Feb 2014

We are just completing our Leadership 2020 Vision and Development Strategy
consultation. Thank you to all of you who contributed : from 19 Provider
Organisations, 8 CCGs, 3 Area Teams, 2 CSUs, 4 HEIs,
2 Deanery teams, the LETB Board, 1 DPH network, 1 Chief Nurse Network and the
GMTS, Leadership and OD leads, Emerging Leaders, Innov8 and Accelr8 networks.
A draft development strategy will be sent to everyone who contributed in early August to
sanity check and for improvement and enrichment
So far we have received :
2 nominations for Inspirational Leader
4 nominations for Coach/Mentor
1 for Emerging Leader and
1 for Leadership Development Champion
It’s a good start but …we need more! Please let us have your nominations by 16

We have booked the Armouries for what promises to be a great celebration on
13 November – please give us some people to celebrate!
