1. Sample (n = 25)
1. 13 rescuers who underwent the intervention
2. 12 rescuers who did not undergo the intervention.
2. All were exposed for the first time to a disaster
since their training.
3. All the participants filled the IES (Impact of Event Scale)
and DES (Dissociative Experience Scale) questionnaires thirtysix hours after leaving the disaster site.
4. Analysis of variance showed no significant
difference in the results of the IES score between
the two groups.
5. DES scores, as shown in the Figure, were found
to be significantly lower in the intervention group
(P< 0.01).

Prior Intervention
Conclusions
1. The results indicate that our prior intervention
may have prevented the development of
dissociative symptoms. As
2. There were no significant differences between
the groups in variables such as
–
–
Previous training,
Sex
So, our results are likely to reflect the impact of the
intervention, rather than other, nonspecific
effects.

Concerning Literature
• We didn't find in the literature papers
comparing the correlation between any pre
traumatic intervention and a future exposure
to a traumatogenic event.
The Sources of PTV
(Pre-Traumatic Vaccination)
•
•
•
•
Basic traumatic science
Exposure therapy
Military experience
Antiterrorist and contra suicide-bombers
preparation experience
Ingredients of PTV
(Pre-Traumatic Vaccination)
1. Teaching what causes trauma
2. Showing that preparation
1. is effective
2. can be learned by anyone
1. everyone is mighty if he has the mental and
physical preparation
3. Teaching the physiological and
psychological, normal, events
1. before, during and after a critical incident
Ingredients of PTV
(Pre-Traumatic Vaccination)
