Mini-Holland Overview

• Part of the Mayor of London’s new ‘Vision for Cycling’.

• £100m of funding available to outer London borough’s.

• Investment to upgrade cycle infrastructure to ‘Dutch-standards’.

• LB Hounslow has submitted Stage 1 bid to TfL.

• 6-8 shortlisted boroughs chosen by the end of August 2013.

• Stage 2 funding bid from shortlisted boroughs due in October 2013.

• Successful boroughs chosen in November/December 2013.

• Focus on high quality cycle infrastructure for cyclists on key road corridors; Cycle Superhighway 9, Staines Road, Bath Road, A4. • Improved connections to town centres and a network of ‘quietway’ route on less busy roads and through parks. New bridges at pinch points on the road network, re-designs of selected major junctions.

Opportunities for The Golden Mile

A number of local projects identified within the bid: Improvements to A4 corridor (TfL led). CS9 improvements to Chiswick Roundabout and Chiswick High Road.

Quietways routes connecting to Brentford, Ealing, Southall and Richmond.

Improved station cycle parking and a ‘super-hub’ at Turnham Green including Brompton Dock.
