Power Point Practice- Make up your own animal.
Create a Power Point presentation that blends two animals into one animal with a new name. Example: Monkeypottamus
1. Find a picture of each animal, crop it by removing the background and unnecessary parts of the animal image to create a
new animal with the head of one animal and the body of another. (See sample PPT.) You must have a total of 5 slides with 5
different/unique animals, one animal per slide. (20 pts per slide)
2. Right click on the image and group the animal image so it can come in as one image with an animation. To group the
pictures, click the first picture, press control, click the second picture, right click, go to Group, and select as one.
3. Select an appropriate background/habitat for your animal. You may use a picture imported from the Internet as a
background or you may create your own background.
4. Use Word Art to create a name/title for the animal/slide.
5. Type a brief description of the animal in the notes pane section at the bottom of each slide. (You will use these notes as you
present your animal to the class.)
6. Select and apply transitions to each slide.
7. Select and apply animations to each animal.
(If your picture would not allow you to group the animals, then you will need to apply the same animation at the same time at
the same speed/duration and set the animation “with previous” to get them to come in together as one.)
8. The animal animation should enter the screen first, followed by the Word Art title of the animal.
(This makes your presentation more interesting, because your audience gets to try to figure out your animal. Time the
animation so it allows the audience to get a few seconds to think about what you’re showing them before you bring in the
Word Art title.)
