Natron Hayat in Bosnia Herzegovina
Company integrates biomass CHP (6.7 MWel, 10 t/h steam)
The main activities of “Natron Hayat d.o.o.” are the production of
celluloses, and paper and paper products.
In order to increase the production capacity from 280 t/s to 310 t/d of
pulp and to improve their energy production, Natron Hayat is extending
its coal fired power plant by a biomass (bark) CHP. The biomass CHP will
generate steam and electricity mainly for plant purposes, but will also sell
surplus electricity. The bark boiler will make use of waste bark, being
generated by Natron Hayat while producing celluloses and paper.
Furthermore the cooling system will be improved.
The project will result in annual CO2 emission reductions of 274,000 t,
expected cost savings of approx. € 3 million p.a. (reducing current
operating costs by 35%) and thus improving the competitive position of
the company.
