STATUE OF LIBERTY

The Statue of Liberty is the most important monument of New York and the United States of America.

This monument is on the sea and if you get on the head or on the torch, you can see a beautiful view of the city of New York.

WALL STREET

Wall Street is the center of the Stock Exchange in New York.

Its name is like this, because in the XVII century, the inhabitants of “New Amsterdam” built a wall to defend the city of possible attacks from American Indians.

BROOKLYN BRIDGE

It´s a very famous bridge in New York because it was the longest suspension bridge in the World for 20 years.

TIMES SQUARE

It is the most important square in New York and world wide known. In Times Square, the New Yorkers celebrate the End of Year. In the year 2000 more than 2.000,000 people met there to celebrate the Millennium.

ELLIS ISLAND

It used to be the Customs but now, it is a monument because from it, you can see the Statue of Liberty.

ROCKEFELLER PARK

(IN CHRISTMAS)

This park is beautiful every year but in Christmas is better.

In Christmas, you can do many things, like walking, ice-skating or see the big Christmas tree.

CENTRAL PARK

Central Park is the most famous park in the World. It’s an “oasis” of vegetation amid a very big city. It extends 3.41km².

TRINITY CHURCH

There have been many churches with this name but this is the most modern church of them. It was built in 1846.

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

This building has got 102 floors and is 381 meters tall. Now (after the fall of the Twin Towers), is the tallest building of New York. It was built in just a 410 days.
