COLOR COSMETIC FOR SKIN (FACE POWDER) E-Mail: [email protected] Website: http://nattaporn.weebly.com/coursematerials.html RAW MATERIALS AND DOSAGE FORMS IN MAKE-UP COSMETICS Dosage forms in make up cosmetic Type of formulations • Powder • Pressed, Loose • Emulsions • Oil-in-water, Water-in-oil • Suspension • Solution • Aqueous, oily solution • Anhydrous (wax, solvent) • Stick, Pan Dosage form: emulsion • A dosage form consisting of a two-phase • system comprised of at least 2 immiscible liquids • One of which dispersed as droplets (internal or dispersed phase) within the other liquid (external or continuous phase) emulsion is stabilized with one or more emulsifying agents e.g. Cream, lotion, ointment Dosage form: emulsion • Water phase contain Active compound, Humectant, perservative, antioxidant, buffer, emulsifier, color, perfume • Oil phase contain Active compound, Emoillient, emulsifier, color, perfume • Active compound: anti-aging, anti-acne, anti-inflammation, anti-bacteria etc. Dosage form: emulsion • Quantity of internal phase • viscosity • Liquid, easy to flow <30% • Moderate 30-74% • Highly viscous >74% • Lotion • Low viscous emulsion • Usually is o/w, contain internal oil<30% • Cream • moderate viscous emulsion, internal oil 30-74% Dosage form: emulsion • Emulsifier, emulsifying agent • Surfactant • Anionic surfactant • Caionic surfactant • Non ionic surfactant: widely used due to nonirritation, • depend on HLB value • Natural emulsifier: lecithin • Co-emulsifier Dosage form: emulsion More HLB more hydrophilic, more water soluble Dosage form: emulsion Ointment • A semisolid dosage form • Highly viscous emulsion • Containing <20% water and volatile • >50% of hydrocarbon, waxes,or polyol (higher alcohol) Suspension • A liquid dosage form that contains solid • particles dispersed in a liquid vehicle Dosage forms in make up cosmetic Type of Color Cosmetics • Facial powder • Foundation • Blushers • Mascara • Eyeliner • Eye shadow • Lip color Purpose • Improve appearance • Impart color • Even-out skin tones • Hide imperfections • Protection COLOR COSMETICS ประเภทของเครื่องสำอำงแต่ งสีสำหรับผิวหนัง 1. เครื่ องสำอำงประเภทแป้งผัดหน้ ำ 2. เครื่ องสำอำงสำหรับตำ 3. เครื่ องสำอำงใช้ แต่งแก้ ม หรื อรู้ช (Rouges) 4. เครื่ องสำอำงใช้ แต่งปำก หรื อลิปสติก (Lipsticks) Powders : Loose powder • Loose powder is a mixture of talc, pigments and fragrance • Important to have asbestos (and other fibers) free talc • Talc particle size is important: above 20μ for loose powder,below for pressed powders is acceptable • Preservatives: mainly parabens Powders : Pressed powders • Pressed powders will contain in addition a binder (oil or fatty ester) • Mica and other pearls e.g. bismuth oxychloride • May contain silicones to give a softer touch • Wet-Dry powders contain silicones แป้งอัดแข็ง • กำรตังต ้ ำรับพื ้นฐำนของแป้งอัดแข็ง มีสว่ นประกอบหลัก 3 ส่วน ได้ แก่ 1. เนื ้อแป้ง (Base Powders) 2. สำรยึดเกำะ (Binding agents) 3. สีและน ้ำหอม (Color and Perfume) Powder Bases • Talcum มีขนำด 1-5 μm • Sericite ได้ จำกธรรมชำตืรูปร่ำงแบน เกำะติดผิวดี ทำให้ หน้ ำสว่ำงขึ ้น • Mica โครงสร้ ำงแบนเหมือน sericite แต่มีควำมมันวำวสูง • Magnesium stearate เกลือของกรดอ่อน เป็ น lubricant , binder จะลื่นกว่ำ Zinc stearate • Zinc stearate มีฤทธิ์ออ่ นๆ ในกำรฆ่ำเชื ้อด้ วย ใช้ ทำแป้งทำสิว • Magnesium carbonate light ดูดซับควำมมัน เบำ มี bulk density ต่ำ Face Powder Talcum Powder Bases Extenders Mica Sericite Face Powder • Additives (สำรเติมแต่ง) Adhesive Soft focus UV cut Iron oxide treated Extenders Absorbsion Smoothness Face Powder Binder ; Emulsion Water Emulsifiers Oil binder ; Silicone Ester Natural oil Oil กำรผสมสำรยึดเกำะในเนือ้ แป้ง Face Powder Preservative Anti oxidant Whitening Anti-aging Powder Bases • Silica มีรูพรุนดูดซับน ้ำมัน ใช้ แบบ amorphous ดูดไขมันได้ เยอะ มีรูพรุนสูง แบบ sphere จะช่วย disperse สี ทำให้ puff ปั ดติดง่ำย • Nylon powder ช่วย disperse สี • Polyethylene พวก PMMA ช่วย disperse สีและมี แบบดูดซับไขมัน นุ่มกว่ำ silica (silica กลม แต่เป็ นทรำยจึงมี ควำมแข็งกว่ำ) Binder, mainly waxes and oils • ใช้ สำหรับเพือใ่ ห้ แป้งเกำะกันและเดำะติดบนผิวหนัง • ผิว 60% เป็ น lipoprotein (ไขมัน) แป้งต้ องเคลือบด้ วยไขมัจงึ จะ เกำะติดดี • ใน eye shadow ต้ องไม่ซมึ เกำะติดผิวดี • Beeswax, Cetyl alcohol (มีกำรใช้ บ้ำงเพื่อเพิ่มควำมแข็.ง) • Mineral oil, Petrolatum • Fatty acid esters (Myristyl myristate, Cetyl rinoleate, Isopropyl palmitate, Isopropyl myristate etc.) แต่ละตัวมีควำมเบำและนุ่มต่ำงกัน Binder, mainly waxes and oils • Lanolin derivertives บำงทีแกะกินหญ้ ำที่มี DDT ก็จะ ออกมำตำมไขมัน หรื อเชื ้อวัวบ้ ำ ที่สำมำรถติดสมองแกะได้ (Lanolin oil นุ่มนวล เกำะติด , Isopropyl lanolate เข้ ำ กับผิวได้ ดี เบำบำง เป็ นไขจำกสัตว์ที่เหมือนของมนุษย์ , Lanolin alcohols etc.) • Vegetable oils (Jojoba oil, Sweet almond oil, Macadamia nut oil etc.) • Ester ของ Vegetable oil หรื อ Squalane ก็ให้ ควำม นุ่มนวล Cosmetic colors 1. Inorganic Pigments (Ultramarine blue, Ultramarine Pink, Titanium Dioxide, Hydrated Chromium oxide, Anhydrous Chromium oxide, Ferric Ammonium ferrocyanide ) 2. Iron oxides (Black, Brown, Umber, Russet, Sienna, Yellow, Tan, Burgundy) Cosmetic colors 3. Mica platelets coated with metal oxide and color pigments (Cloisonne@, & Gemtone@ of Mearl) or Colorona of Rona • เป็ นมุกที่มีสี มีควำมปลอดภัย ทำตำ ทำปำกได้ ทนอุณหภูมิสงู 1000๐ Pearlescent Pigment & Iridescent Color 3. Titanium Dioxides coated Mica platelets Interference and color pigments (Duocrome@ of Mearl and Dichrona@ of Rona) • สีเหลือบ มองตรงเห็น 1 สี มองเฉียง 45๐ เห็นอีกสี เช่น ใช้ ในอุตสำหกรรมรถยนต์ 4. Mica coated with Bismuth oxychloride (Shinju@ of Mearl or Mibiron@ of Rona) • เป็ นมุกสังเครำะห์ มีควำมวำวสูง นิยมใช้ ในยำทำเล็บ ไม่นิยมใช้ ในพวก eye shadow และ brush on เพรำะให้ ควำมวำวด้ ำนเดียวมำกเกินไป ไม่ทน แสง จะดำ มี density สูงกว่ำ mica ทัว่ ไป 7 เท่ำ ทำให้ มีปัญหำในกำรผสม ถ้ ำผสมนำนมุกจะตก ต้ องหำเวลำที่เหมำะสม Pearlescent Pigment & Iridescent Color 5. Guanine-natural pearl (Mearlmaid@ of Mearl or Naturon of Rona) • มุกธรรมชำติมำจำกเกร็ดปลำ เงำ เฉดสีน่มุ นวล อำจติดเชื ้อได้ รำคำแพง 7.
