Responsibilities of an IA
 Manage and disburse funds from GEF in
accordance with the rules of the IA;
 Oversee project implementation in accordance
with the Project Document, the work plans,
budgets, the agreements with co-financiers;
 Provide technical support;
 Review expenditure and monitor financial
management of the project;
 Carry out supervision missions;
 Responsible for evaluations being conducted
(UNDP); and
 Report to the GEF on project progress through the
annual Project Implementation Review, and
provide financial reports to the GEF.
During implementation, the project will be
supported by the following UNDP offices:
UNDP Fiji in Suva: Operational and administrative
oversight: Emma Mario.
UNDP Asia Pacific Regional Center: Technical oversight
Jose Padilla.
UNDP HQ: Other support, including liaison with GEF as
may be necessary. Andrew Hudson
and by the following FAO offices:
 FAO Sub-Regional office in Samoa: Operational
and administrative oversight.
 FAO HQ:
Technical backstopping: Blaise Kuemlangan and
Frank Chopin.
Liaison with GEF: Barbara Cooney.
