• Students admitted to UGA and U. Padova (UP)
• US students:
– 1 yr at UGA taking courses (assistantship)
– 1 yr at UP doing research (paid by UP)
– Back at UGA for defense
• UP students:
– 1 yr at UP taking courses
– 1 yr at UGA doing research (assistantship)
– Back at UP for defense
UGA-Univ. of Padova Exchanges
• Opportunity for UGA faculty to teach 3
months at Univ. of Padova (in English)
Graduate Students 2011-2014
Departmental Assistantships
• Assistant Professors (3 years)
• Faculty without technician (rotating)
• Cost-sharing (50% if available)
• Cost-share available from CAES for
minority students.

Assistantship Incentive from the Provost
• Include assistantship + tuition in grant
– In-state tuition: $12,000/year
• If grant is funded, Provost will provide
– $18,000 to hire another Ph.D. student

• Develop plan for recruitment, enrollment,
credit hour generation
• Must include extramural funds for
assistantships
