Teaching Assistantship - Title 9970
• Graduate School does NOT provide any
waivers during the summer
• MUST Enroll in 3 credits
• FTE > 50% or 20 hours/week +
• Held assistantship appointment during
spring 2013 or qualified for assistantship
appointment but no funding was available
• Appointment must be at least 4 weeks long
• Exception-Courses approve by GS & SS
• No NR tuition or waivers during Summer

• Compensated at the same salary range
for Summer Session as they were
during the academic year.
• $25,000 for academic year(at
100%), 25K for summer
• One tuition waiver will be awarded
for three credit hours. Even if
teaching more than one course

Teaching Assistantship Information
•Cancel appointment if the course is cancelled.
•Cancel appointment if TA unable to teach.
•Salaries cannot be negotiated at a rate higher than
the formula calculates for Graduate students.
Research Assistants – Title Code 9971

• Enroll in 3 credits

Student is responsible for additional credits

Summer Assistantship Waiver Details
• SSW post to student accounts during the
same summer block as the student enrolls
in credit- may differ from appointment
dates
• QTR’s will begin to post to students
accounts last week in May
• QTR will hit your accounts on 6/25 payroll
