society gave a lot to the church. They were a group who spent their
immediate time giving to the church whatever was necessary at the moment.
One thing is needful – Mr. and Mrs. H.O.Rotsch 1943
Wonderful, long time members who
came from the old church.

Pastor Paul Bast
This do in remembrance of me - Pastor Paul Bast
The first Pastor of Pilgrim until his death in 1940. Gussie was 23 when Pastor
died. He was a man who didn’t know what “slow down” meant. He died while
he was practicing his sermon for the evening service. He was a magnificent
Pastor. He died at the age of 46.
Let this cup pass from me – Elizabeth Schellenberger 1941
Active member. Wife of Emil. According to Gussie Ledin, Emil loved working on
the books. Elizabeth was a strong supporter. They had two children. The older
girl became a nurse and worked with the handicapped in a hospital in
Montana. She never married and died recently.
He is not here but is risen – Mary Harms 1942
This window was given by her daughter, Dorothy. What a character she
was! She died shortly after the window was put in.
Abide with us for it is toward evening – Mr. And Mrs. Emil Liesenberg 1942
Active in the old Pilgrim until their death. Very active in every phase of church life. Gussie
was in the Pilgrim choir since the age of 12 and gave
her a little time to mix with the Liesenberg’s.
Lo I am with you always – Hulda Papke 1943
North side of Church
He went up into a mountain and taught the people

Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give shall never thirst
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Sternberg 1944
Good members of Pilgrim. They gave the window together. After Fred died, Olga
was a steady Sunday, after church companion at mother Bast’s apartment. She
gave many hours to the old church but after the new church was built, her
hours of service decreased.
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana
Dr. John D. Greathouse 1943
Died in WWII. Great guy, highly thought of by all.
Thou art my beloved son – Olive K. Greathouse 1950
Mother of John. The Greathouses were wonderful to the Bast’s
before and after Pastor died. Enough can’t be said of the
many services provided before Pastor Bast went to be with
the Lord. They remained members of Little Pilgrim until their
health got the best of them.
He was subject to them – Mr. And Mrs. Victor H. Clausen 1947
Vic died first. He gave much to the church, to little Pilgrim, from its start
until he died. He polished the pews. He was always on hand for
meetings. Mrs. Clausen was usually with him for much of the special
meetings. The school wasn’t built yet. They gave the window together.
Wist ye not that I must be about my Fathers business - Mr. And Mrs. C.E. Howe 1943
Lived in a house across the street. Has 6 children. Well loved. Mrs. Howe served for Gussie. Gussie
loved the children. They came to little Pilgrim from its start and left soon after Pastor Bast died.

Husband of Agatha (Gussie) Bast Ledin. This window was chosen the year after
Gussie had been to Germany and had seen many windows such as this one.
The council and her got together and decided where it should be placed.
They decided that the center should be the lamb and Pastor Schuessler
should be the one to give his sketch to the proper people. The rest came
