MCCVLC Mission Statement

learning opportunities whenever and
wherever desired.”
New Initiative
The MCCVLC Next Generation
Task Force:
The MCCVLC Next Generation Task Force Charge:
• To determine the type and extent of currently provided
services of the MCCVLC.
• To investigate the need for improvement in current
services and expansion of services.
• To recommend the best methods for expanding and
improving services of the MCCVLC.
• Define outcomes that provide substantive value for
students and member institutions.
The MCCVLC Next Generation
Task Force:
Assumptions revealed:
• The current model is built for institutions and not for
students – the process is very fragmented in the students’
mind,
• Students view the MCCVLC as the last option to getting a
course,
• There is increased competition in the market place,
• Data shows an unmet need,
• Institutions are not incentivized to grow their online
offerings, and
• The name itself, Michigan Community College Virtual
Learning Collaborative, is obscure and students do not
know what it means.
