STEPS TAKEN IN JHARSUGUDA DISTRICT FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF PRIASOFT
The PRIASOFT accounting software requires holistic change to be
an user friendly & a foolproof accounting software like PAMIS-2010.
Despite of severe flaws in the software the following steps have
been taken for implementation of the software at our level: Master updation could be done successfully for DRDA,Blocks & all
GPs
 Steps were taken for entry of at least one voucher from each
category i.e. Receipts, Payment (including Transfer), Contra, Journal &
Receivable & Payable
 Adjustment/Journal, Receivable & Payable vouchers could not be
made due to error in the software. But direct expenditure, receipt could
be done successfully
 More vouchers could not be entered, as all the transactions are inter
related & skipping one voucher due to software error made entries
impossible for subsequent vouchers to enter(particularly in transfer
type vouchers).

BOTTLENECKS OF THE SOFTWARE
The suggestions given to modify PRIASOFT during last workshop held in the last
week of July’2010 are yet to be incorporated.
 Existing accounting software i.e. PAMIS is based on Double Entry System but
PRIASOFT, though complying A.G. stipulations & guideline is basically not an
accounting software and is based on single entry system.
 During the course of CA audit the formations/statements required viz. Trial
Balance, Balance sheet & Subsidiary ledgers etc are not possible in PRIASOFT .
 Vouchers at Block & GP level are mostly of Misc.Payment /Misc.Receipt type i.e.
Deduction of Royalty, EMD etc. through single voucher. But PRIASOFT does not
support such transactions.
 Journal / Adjustment entry is not possible i.e. while adjustment of advances it asks
for Receipt or Payment Type transaction. Further, Other Advance to Staff Head is
missing.
 Software is not user friendly. Flipping through the Ledger Head quickly is not
possible
 Direct transfer of funds through RTGS/Letter transfer shows error

STATUS OF G.P. COMPUTERISATION
 Supply of Computer & Peripherals
Computers, UPSs, Godrej Make Computer Tables, Chairs and
Almirah etc have already been supplied to all 78 GPs of Jharsuguda
District.
 Net Connectivity
DRDA/Block : Though Bandwidth was increased, during office hour
VPN is very slow. The response of local service provider (BSNL) is
very poor. Even VPN of Sadar Block is down for last 10 days.
GP Level : All the GPs were instructed to avail Land Phone with
Broadband facility. But it was ascertained from some GP secretaries
that BSNL is insisting for WLL with Dialup Net Connection which is
quite slow.
 Provision of Voltage Stabilizer
Voltage fluctuation a synonym to all GPs. Though the GPs have been
provided with APC UPSs but are not functioning (not getting charged)
even there is a minor voltage drop. The GPs may be allowed to
purchase voltage stabilizer to avoid accidental damage due to voltage
fluctuation.
