IAB Purpose
• To build a strong foundation of support and
communication between industry and the Institute
of Industrial Engineers
• To ensure the highest level of local, national, and
international recognition of IIE programs
• To provide review and guidance on the IIE training
curriculum
• To provide guidance in development of new
education programs in emerging areas of regional
and national relevance
• To assist IIE in promoting the industrial
engineering profession

IAB Mission
• The mission of the Industry Advisory Board is to
build a strong foundation of support and
communication between industry and the Institute of
Industrial Engineers.
• The Board will play a fundamental role in assisting
IIE to achieve a position of relevance and
prominence within industry.
• The Board is composed of highly respected leaders
in industry, government and academia from a wide
spectrum of organizations that are strongly involved
in the application of industrial engineering.

Mission
The Board will provide advice and counsel for IIE.
Board participants will act as an industry link and add
their perspective for IIE business strategies.
The objectives of the IIE and Industry Advisory Board
partnership are to:
• Ensure the highest level of local, national, and international
recognition of IIE programs
• Advance IIE involvement with industry partners
• Provide review and guidance on the IIE training curriculum
• Provide guidance in development of new education programs in
emerging areas of regional and national relevance
• Promote IIE's efforts in securing the resources it needs in order to
achieve its goals
• Identify the needs of industry and define a "corporate partnership"

• Define ways for IIE to gain greater corporate participation at
conferences and training programs
• Support greater industry participation in IIE's Awards program
• Assist IIE in acquiring funding sources for scholarships, grants
and sponsorships
• Provide input and advice during the implementation of IIE’s
strategic plan. Because the IAB is a collection of individuals who
bring unique knowledge and skills which complement the
knowledge and skills of the Board of Trustees, IIE will seek
advice to augment existing governance of the Institute.
• Articulate IIE’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the
public.
• Ensure the integrity of the industrial engineering profession
