The main objectives are to:
Provide recognition at different stages of improvement
Encourage organisations to apply the Excellence principles
Provide a structured approach to measuring improvement

It allows the applicant to compare itself against role model organisations.
It creates an internal stimulus to continue the drive to maintain
performance and position.
The process provides an independent validation of the degree to which
the organisation has implemented Excellent Approaches and achieved
Excellent Results.

Purpose of a Site Visit
To acquire the information needed in order to provide the
most value-adding feedback to the organisation being
assessed, by:
Confirming the validity of the written information and data
already seen and analysed;
Clarifying any unclear aspects within the written
information and data;
Gathering new and additional information and data;
Gaining a sense of the atmosphere in the organisation;
Providing the input to arrive at the final assessment
findings and the Scores.
