Primary Job Function:
Functions as a staff engineer with both project and maintenance engineering duties. Performs technical reviews of specifications and designs. Monitors construction
and performs inspections of equipment installations. Represents the Company’s acceptance of all installed equipment and systems. Performs design engineering
and specification development. Functions as a technical resource for the maintenance and production departments. Reports directly to Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Manage capital projects related to engineering specialty and support other staff with capital projects according to technical knowledge
• Review specifications and design drawings for technical acceptance, and follow-up with designers and equipment suppliers on any deficiencies found prior to final release
• Routinely monitor field construction activities to ensure that installation of all components and systems are completed as per the design drawings and specifications, acting as a
mediator among concerned parties to resolve problems with solutions that are acceptable to the Company
• Monitor activities concerning equipment procurement and installation to ensure completion within the cost budget and on time according to the project schedule
• Assist in the start-up and troubleshooting of all newly installed equipment
• Perform design engineering and develop specifications
• Support maintenance and production departments as a technical resource and adviser of impact concerns
• Develop and maintain technical and market knowledge by attending industry seminars/training and by developing/maintaining library and technical information files
• Prepare Capital Asset Requisition (CAR) forms for capital budget requests including new yearly budgets as assigned by the Engineering Manager
• Supervise outside contractors, vendors and other personnel as assigned
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or technical experience in a related field
• Minimum five years experience in cement manufacturing (or a similar heavy industrial process) in roles pertaining to project engineering or management
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and must be able to travel in state and out of state, possibly in inclement weather
• Must be able to work weekends when necessary and be on a call-out basis
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Ability to wear all required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety glasses, safety harness, ear plugs, dust masks and gloves
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders, embankments and stockpiles, with no fear of heights or confined spaces
• Ability to perform repetitious arm, hand and leg motions, bending, kneeling, twisting in confined spaces and awkward positions
