refers to having a
healthy and well
functioning body.

Being
physically healthy means
having enough energy to carry
out everyday activities.
Eating
healthy, exercising,
getting enough sleep, and
practicing good hygiene habits

healthy.
Physical Health Depends on:
Balanced Diet
Daily Exercise
Enough sleep
Good hygiene practices
Avoiding Diseases & Drugs
Social Health
Social
health involves
getting along with parents, siblings,
friends, teachers…
making and keeping friends
giving and receiving support and help
Communicating needs to others
Respecting other’s rights
Getting Along…
Why
is it sometimes hard to
get along with people?
What
makes it hard to talk
to our parents?
What
do you like in a friend?
What
does it mean to
Give/receive “support?”
Mental & Emotional Health
Mental health involves all of our
emotions and feelings…
How we feel about ourselves
How we handle day-to-day demands
of life, pressure, stress…
How we recognize our achievements
and learn from our mistakes
Stress
Stress
is body’s response to
changes around us. Stress
can be good or bad!
Positive stress helps us reaching goals
Negative stress prevents us from doing
our best and can cause discomfort.
Peer Pressure
Peer pressure is pressure from friends
or classmates to behave in a certain
way which can effect social health.
Peer pressure can be good or bad
when friends encourage you to do
something positive like helping
others, getting involved in sports…
when friends try to get you do
something harmful like fighting,
drugs, lying, stealing…
How Do You Feel
Today????
How many “emotions” can you name?
How often do you feel “stressed out?”
What makes you “stressed out?”
How do you attack/resolve your
problems?
Can you talk about your feelings
easily?
What is the biggest problem you have
faced? Would you like to share it
with the class?
