• Certificate and ratings to act as PIC on type
• Class I medical certificate
• Completed operator’s approved flight
instructor and check airman qualification
program
• Fully qualified to serve as PIC and line
current
• Achieve and maintain favourable record
• Demonstrate to an inspector the ability to
conduct checks

PROCESS
• Letter from Operator with resume, copies
of qualifications/training
• Review documentation and interview
• Observe applicant conducting checks
• Letter of approval
CHECK AIRMAN EVALUATION
• Can be no question as to the Airman’s
skills
• Inspector familiar with SOPs
• Pre-evaluation briefing
• Observe the check and debrief
• Decision and follow up
PERIODIC RENEWAL
• At least one month prior letter requesting
renewal
• Copies of checks provided and proposed
date for renewal established
• Review check numbers and quality
• Schedule, observe and follow up
FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
