Política de Asistencia - Attendance
•
Los estudiantes tienen que asistir a la escuela a menos que sea imposible
a causa de enfermedad o emergencia. Students have to come to school
every day unless they are sick or there has been an emergency.
•
Certificados de asistencia perfecta serán dados a estudiantes que nunca se
hayan ausentado de la escuela. Certificates for perfect attendance will be
given only to students who have not been absent at all.
•
Las ausencias serán marcadas como no excusadas a menos que recibamos
una carta del doctor o de usted justificando la ausencia. Absences will be
marked as not excused unless we recieve a note from the doctor or from
you justifying the absence.
•
Ausencias excusadas están limitadas a lo siguiente: enfermedad o lesión,
cuarentena, muerte inmediata en la familia, citas médicas o dentales,
vistas en la corte, motivos religiosos, oportunidades educativas, entre
otras. Excused absences are limited to: sickness or injury, quarantine,
death of inmediate family member, medical appointments, court, religious
motives, educational opportunities, among others.
Tardanzas y Salidas Tempranas – Tardys and early checkouts
•
Las tardanzas comenzarán cuando toque la campana de las 8:00 a.m. Los
estudiantes que no estén en el salón a esta hora serán contados como
tarde y tendrán que ir a la oficina a buscar un pase de tardanza. Si el
estudiante acumula 9 tardanzas se le asignará un día de ISS (suspensión
en la escuela). Tardys will start at 8:00 a.m. Students that are not in the
classroom by this time will have to obtain a tardy slip at the office. If the
child accumulates 9 tardys, he/she will be assigned a day of ISS (in
school suspension).
•
Si el estudiante se tiene que ir temprano, por favor sáquelo después de
las 11:30 am. ya que se le contará como ausente si se va antes de ésta
hora. Si tiene que cambiar la transportación, los padres deben llamar a la
escuela antes de la 1:00 pm. If the student needs to leave early, please
check him/her out after 11:30 a.m. because if you do it earlier the
student will be counted as absent. If you need to make transportation
changes, please do so before 1:00 p.m.
Dispositivos electrónicos y vestimenta – Electronics and
dress code
•
Los estudiantes no están permitidos a usar, enseñar, ó poseer teléfonos
celulares, localizadores, walkie-talkies, iPods, cámaras digitales ó
cualquier aparato electrónico en la escuela. Students are not allowed to
use, show or to have cellphones, pagers, walkie-talkies, iPods, digital
cameras or any other electronic device in the school.
•
Si a su hijo(a) le quitan algún dispositivo electrónico, usted tendrá que
venir a recogerlo, no se le dará de vuelta al niño(a). If a teacher or staff
member takes an electronic device away, the parent has to come to pick
it up at the office, we will not give it back to the child.
•
Los estudiantes no están autorizados a ponerse ropa con aperturas que
enseñen partes del cuerpo. Las niñas no se pueden poner escotes y
camisas de manguillos y los pantalones o faldas no pueden ser mas
cortos que el largo de la punta de sus dedos cuando ponen las manos
hacia abajo. Students are not allowed to wear clothing with openings that
will show their skin or parts of the body. Girls are not allowed to have low
cut or spaguetti straps shirts and their pants or skirts have to be longer
than the tip of their fingers when they put their arms down.
Reporte de notas y cartas de retención - Report cards
and retention letters
•
Usted recibirá un reporte de notas cada 9 semanas para dejarle saber a
usted en general cómo le va a su hijo(a) en cada materia. Entre medio
usted recibirá un reporte de progreso para dejarle saber cómo le va en
sus tareas y exámenes. You will receive a report card every 9 weeks to
let you know in general how is your child doing in each subject. In
between you will receive a progress report to let you know how is your
child doing in homework and test grades.
•
Cartas de retención serán enviadas junto con los estudiantes que se
encuentran por debajo del nivel de su grado ó que no han progresado
como se supone. Retention letters will be sent home with those
students under grade level or who have not shown the adequately
progress.
¿Qué puede hacer? What can you do?
•
Búsque algún amigo(a) ó usted ayúdelo(a) con la tarea ó para repasar
para un examen. Yourself or a friend can help him/her study for a test
or complete and review the homework.
•
Tome tiempo durante el fin de semana para repasar conceptos de la
semana anterior. Set time aside during the weekend to review concepts
from the previous week.
Examen ACCESS - ACCESS Test
•
Los estudiantes en el programa de ESL toman el examen ACCESS 1 vez
todos los años para evaluar sus habilidades en Inglés. Students in the
ESL program take the ACCESS test 1 time every year to evaluate their
English proficiency.
•
Cuatro áreas son examinadas: Leer, Escribir, Escuchar y Hablar. Four
domains are measured: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
•
Dentro de las cuatro destrezas, 5 estándares son cubiertos. Lenguaje de
Matemáticas, Ciencias, Estudios Sociales, Artes del Lenguaje, Lenguaje
Social y de Instrucción. Within the four domains, 5 standards are
covered. Language of Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language
Arts, and Social and Instructional Language.
•
Los resultados determinan si el estudiante continúa teniendo
limitaciones de habilidades en Inglés ó si sus destrezas son suficientes
como para no recibir servicios de ESL. Results establishes if student still
has some limitations with English proficiency or if the skills are
satisfactory and does not need services through the ESL program.
Exámenes de final de grado 3ero a 8vo grado – End of
grade test 3rd to 8th grade (EOG)
•
Los exámenes de EOG son los que los estudiantes de 3ero a 8vo grado
reciben al final del año. EOG’s are the evaluations students in grades 3-8
receive by the end of the school year.
•
La escala de calificación es del 1 al 4, siendo 1 lo más bajo y 4 lo más alto.
El requisito es que los estudiantes obtengan 3 ó 4. The scale goes from 1 to
4, 1 being the lowest and 4 being the highest. The requirement is that
students receive a 3 or a 4.
•
Las materias evaluadas son Lectura y Matemáticas. Los estudiantes en
grados 5 y 8 también tiene que tomar el examen de Ciencias. The subjects
that are covered are Reading and Math. For students in grades 5 & 8, they
have an additional test in Science.
•
Ésta calificación determina en gran medida si el estudiante debe ser
aprobado ó si debe repetir el año. This grade is going to be a determining
factor whether your child can be promoted to the next grade or retained in
the same grade one more year.
Evaluaciones de Kinder a 2do – Kindergarten through
2nd grade Evaluations

Los estudiantes de k-2 toman evaluaciones de acuerdo al nivel de ellos.
Students are measured according to their level.

Recuerde siempre revisar el calendario para estar informadob de
eventos en la escuela. Remember to check the calendar to stay
informed about school events.

Si su hijo(a) tiene que tomar algún medicamento mientras está en la
escuela, recuerde que sólo se le puede administrar si trae una nota del
doctor con las instrucciones, la dósis, etc. If your child needs to take
medication while at school, remember we can only do it if you bring a
doctor’s note with the instructions, dose, etc.
Más recordatorios – More reminders
•
Tenemos un traductor que viene a la escuela los Jueves y está aquí
todo el día. Su nombre es el Señor Flecha y él puede ayudar si necesita
algún documento traducido o si necesita hablar con la maestra ó
principal por algún incidente. We have a translator that comes on
Thursdays and stays all day. His name is Mr. Flecha and he can help
you if you need a document translated or need to talk to the teacher or
principal about an incident.
•
También éste año tengo una asistente a tiempo completo. Su nombre el
María Cornejo, ella también estará trabajando con los estudiantes y
puede ser que llame a su casa para darle algún mensaje u otra
información. Also remember that this year I have an assistant full-time.
Her name is María Cornejo and she will be working with the students as
well as contacting you to give you messages and other things.
