To actively profile CMSUK within the NHS To gather and distribute relevant industry information To source a Patron To gain general public recognition To advise on legal changes, benefit changes and legislation changes within health and social care. CMSUK Update on Strategy CMSUK Strategy Planning Working Document 2009 Core Objectives Ongoing Strategy Objectives To build public and private partnerships To seek recognition of CM as a profession within NMC & HPC To promote initiatives within Education To offer support to develop the strategy for an umbrella body To work with Universities to provide a post grad Certification in CM To provide Educational process for CMs by offering Conferences and Study Days To be recognised as holding Conferences of excellence To organise research into Case Management To fund CMSUK publications CMSUK Update on Strategy CMSUK Strategy Planning Working Document 2009 Core Objectives To Pioneer quality standards within Case Management To work with government to challenge health and social care boundaries Ongoing Strategy Objectives To launch the new revised edition of the CMSUK Standards To work towards CMSUK becoming an Accredited professional body To continue discussions with government bodies either independently or in partnership with other likeminded organisations. To become an influential lobbying body. To promote public well being All of the above. Membership Update • Current individual membership is just below 400 • Current Corporate Membership is 12 organisations Standards & Ethics Committee Update Members: • Chair: Jan Harrison • Members: Carole Chantler, Helen Ainsworth, Catherine Chapman • Meets about three times a year, or as required. Standards & Ethics • The original Standards of Practice were produced in 2005 • The Code of Ethics was then produced in 2008 • The group has since been focussing on the review of the Standards: – this is almost finished – just final editing to complete • The group has been asked by the Board to undertake the production of a CPD portfolio – this has now started with initial drafts being considered – this will form the basis of evidence of practice and experience for case managers Education Committee Update Mission Statement (provisional) Our vision for the future is to devise and promote educational opportunities to enhance accreditation and establish case management as a qualified profession. We will facilitate and work in partnership with organisations and academic centres of excellence to enable case managers to acquire skills and knowledge to perform to CMSUK Standards of Practice. Events Committee Update • • • • • Members: Teresa Shaw -Chair Clare Mulvey Kay McArthur Leanne Potts Heather Roberts Events undertaken 2008 • 7th May 2008 -Utilising Psychological Interventions Effectively within Case Management • I day conference with 80 Delegates • Feedback 70% rated venues, admin, catering as excellent • 80% scoring speakers as excellent or good. • 28th Sept 2008 Challenges with in Case management Client Centred Care. • 1 Day interactive session with 20 delegates no sponsorship • 100% rated excellent or good with 81% stating it was thought provoking. • 13 and 14 November 2008 Annual conference 2008 Moving Forwards • Excellent feedback 93% would return. • Excellent value for money a well organised conference. • Have we learnt anything from the conference • Timing • Practical issues Events 2009 • Annual Conference 2009 19 and 20 November 2009 • A Fresh Outlook • Focusing on facial head and neck injuries with a variety of speakers from MOD NHS and private sectors. • The initial response has been excellent with the bookings being far in advance at this stage than previous conferences in terms of stands and delegates. Newsletter Committee Update • CMSUK Newsletter is now online and sent out via email • We are planning regular articles on relevant health, social care and benefits issues, providing updates to our members Newsletter Committee Update • We want members to contribute: – Case Studies – Biographies – Relevant Articles Newsletter Committee Update • We want to provide information on relevant events for members • We want short news items of interest for members Newsletter Committee Update • There's no need to commit to the newsletter as with other committees, it can be a one off • It's an excellent way to raise members' profiles • We need members to help! Case Manager of the Year Award 2009 • First ever CMSUK Award • Award Criteria: ‘Good outcome from good practice.’ • Presentations to the top three will take place at the CMSUK Conference Dinner, 19th November 2009 where the overall winner will be announced. • Closing date for nominations is Friday 28th August 2009.
