Classroom Policies

My most important classroom rules are
1. Be in your seat when the bell rings
2. Don’t chew gum
3. Be respectful to others


Students will work individually, in pairs, and in small groups
everyday.
Every lesson will always address the 4 major skills of reading,
writing, listening and speaking
I change activities every 10-15 minutes to maximize student
focus.
To meet individual learning styles, I use a variety of games
and activities to encourage successful language learning.
Homework
 Homework is assigned
nearly every night
 In most levels, homework
will take about 10-15
minutes.
 Homework is graded by
completeness, not
correctness.
 There are only 2
homework grades given:
100% or 0%

Grading
 Progress reports
 Every student will receive a written report at least once a
marking period.
 Any time grades are updated in the grade book, an email will
automatically be sent to all parents.
 The marking period grade is
• 90% quizzes, tests, projects, participation and compositions
• 10% homework and participation
 Make-up work
 It is each student’s responsibility to complete work missed
from an excused absence. The student will have one day for
each absence to make-up homework.
 All missed tests, quizzes and orals must be made-up on
Thursdays before or after school.
 RETAKES-any student has a chance to re-take failed quizzes or
tests the Thurs after it is returned
