IDS Search
Situation/Problem/Opportunity:
The interlibrary loan consortia, Information Delivery
Services (IDS), provides excellent delivery service for
library materials among consortia members. However,
there is no discovery service that allows library patrons
to search the combined collections of the IDS
consortia.
IDS Search
Purpose Statement (Goals):
IDS Search will provide patrons a well designed,
relevance ranking discovery tool that simultaneously
searches the IDS member library collections.
Enrichment of the search results with additional data
(i.e. Google Books) or services (i.e. ILLiad) will be
seamlessly integrated.
Search scoping allowing the patron to seamlessly
search and easily recognize search results on the local,
consortial, and national/world-wide levels.
