• Authors’ last names followed by initials.
• Use an ampersand between the last two authors.
• Include a comma before the ampersand.
Date of Publication
• Enclose the date in parentheses and follow by a period.
Title
-Title of the paper is not italicized.
- Only capitalize the first word in the title of the paper and subtitle
(if any) as well as any proper names.
DOI Number
• Provide the DOI number when available.
• Spell “doi” with the lower case letters and follow it with a colon.
• There should not be a space between the colon and the numbers.
• Do not include a period after the DOI number.
• No additional retrieval information is needed when there is a DOI#.
Publisher information
• For documents easily obtained through the primary publishing channel
where there is not DOI number, it is not necessary to provide the name of
the ACM Digital Library.
• You do need to provide the publisher because it is the primary
publishing channel.
• ACM does not provide a location for the publisher, but that
information can be located in Books in Print.
Retrieval statement
with the exact URL
• If the conference paper was retrieved from an online website, use
the words, “Retrieved from…” and the exact URL.
• Include http:// but do not include a period after the URL.
• Remove any hyperlink formatting.
