The tradition
of
the Yule Cake
On Christmas Eve, families went into the woods to find
and cut a great tree.
The Yule tree had to burn throughout the twelve days of
Christmas. Once cut, the log was dragged home.
It was believed to bring good luck in the new year.
El víspera de Navidad, las familias entraron las
maderas encontrar y cortar un gran árbol. El árbol
de Yule tuvo que quemarse a través de los doce
días de Navidad. Corte una vez, el registro fue
arrastrado a casa.

50g castor sugar
30g plain flour
20g cocoa
2 eggs
Filling
50g icing sugar
25g marg
150g cooking
chocolate
Note : This does
not keep well. It
must be eaten
straight away!!
1. LightYear
ovengroup:
gas 5 180C
Line Swiss roll tin with greaseproof paper
2. Sieve the flour and cocoa onto a plate
3. Break the eggs into a clean mixing bowl. Add
the sugar. Whisk until forms peaks.
4. Sieve in the flour and cocoa. Fold in carefully.
5. Spoon the mixture into the lined tin. Use the
edge of a spoon to push the mixture to fit the
tin.
6. Bake for 10 minutes until it comes away from
the paper. Roll up while still warm
7. Make butter cream using Spread
butter cream onto sponge.
8. Melt chocolate. Spread over rolled
up sponge. Leave to set. Dredge
(sprinkle) with icing sugar.

• Stir
Revuelva
• Pour into oven tray
Vierta en la bandeja

• Bake for 10 minutes
Cueza al horno

• Roll up while
still hot
Ruede para arriba

• Spread with cream
Sepárese con crema
• Melt
50g chocolate
Chocolate del

• Cover with chocolate
