Service user perspective
“We know what needs changing, what
works and what doesn’t work. We know
this because we live it 24/7, 52 weeks a
year with no days off.”
Making user involvement work: Supporting service user networking and knowledge, Joseph
Rowntree Foundation, November 2006
Care and Support
"Delivering a care and support
system that meets the aspirations
of everyone who needs care,
while coping with increased
demand for support, requires
more than incremental increases
in social care funding – it requires
a radical rethink of the way the
state helps people with care
needs.” Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling
Our vision for the future of Care and Support is
shaped by the needs of the people
We want a society where
Everyone is
respected and
included as
equal
members of
society
Everyone has
the opportunity
to fulfil their
potential
Public services
enable people
to feel
empowered
and supported
in meeting
their
aspirations
Everyone
should be able
to understand
their role in
terms of what
they contribute
to society and
what they are
entitled to from
government

called the Delivery Co-ordination Group that has been working
