• Funded primarily by two-year grant from Kresge Foundation.
• Housed in Foundation for California Community Colleges.
– Tightly integrated into CCC Chancellor’s Office operations.
• Kresge-funded Centers in six other states.
• Kresge’s Goal for Centers—To increase the coordination, effectiveness,
and scale of student success programs and initiatives.
– Provide support, data, shared venue for community colleges to
develop and implement completion agenda.
• Our Mission—To help the CCC system continue to advance the Student
Success Initiative and continue to make gains on student achievement.
• Key focus on professional development—To expand learning opportunities
for faculty, staff, and administrators and increase ease of access to best
practices throughout the state and country.
– Vision: For CCC to have the best system of professional development
in the country.
• Projects/Programs
– Develop online professional development portal (clearinghouse) for
faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Six upcoming regional summits.
– Leverage Institutional Effectiveness program for on-site professional
development.
– Partner with system advocates to influence state-level policy change
related to student success.
– Adopt a few other potentially high-impact issues.
