6th Grade Transition Program




Goal: Help 6th grade students feel welcome,
wanted and comfortable at HMS
Orientation before school starts
8th Grade Peer Mentors: WEB Leaders
Academic & Social Follow-Ups during year
School Day Structure

Students will have a minimum of 4 core classes, each
with a different 6th Grade teacher.





6th Grade Teachers: Mrs. Wheeler, Mrs. Vannoy, Mrs. Pfenning, Mr. Egleus
Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts
Electives – Art, Band, Choir, P.E., Computers
4 to 5 minute passing time to collect materials for each
class
Each student will have an Hawk Talk time & teacher as
well


