Dacia,
Located in a clearing surrounded by a magnificent
landscape, the Prislop Monastery is one of the most
important orthodox churches in Transylvania.
It is said that Lady Zamfira came to Prislop very
ill and cured with water from the healing spring from
the monastery’s yard. Here is also the grave of
father Arsenie Boca.
.
At the Densus church, the oldest Romanian church built on an
ancient atheist temple, you will feel admiration and surprise.
Inside you can admire a fresco dated in the time of Mircea the
Old, picturing Jesus dressed in Romanian clothes.
The uniqueness of this church is the construction
materials: river gravel, tiles, funerary stones, columns, even
miniature statues or the sculpture of a lion’s face, all having
been collected by the builders from Sarmisegetusa nearby.
