The importance of history – looking back in order to look
forward.
Importance of evidence – data driven – lots of housing
literature is not
Policy relevance – strong for many reasons but importantly
because of the way he wrote – accessibility of his writing
Multidisciplinary approach –history + economics+ statistics +
geography and more

• Need/demand relationship
• Linking housing and labour markets
• Forecasting models
