• 1st meeting in December 2009 to define scope,
type and initial list of elements, focus on critical

• Jan – May: multiple reviews of elements, code
sets, technical specs, use cases in relation to
existing sources and SEA/LEA/HE needs
• May-June (and ongoing): receive comments from
community at large online
• June-July: review and address comments, refine
standards and processes for establishing
standards
• August-September: last round of review &
comment and release of Version 1.0 and
business use cases
• Sept-Dec: continued input, work with early
adopters, define scope, type and list of elements
for Version 2.0 – highlighting postsecondary
