定语从句

在复合句中，修饰某一名词（词组）或代词
的从句叫做定语从句。被定语从句修饰的
名词（词组）或代词叫做先行词。定语从
句通常出现在先行词之后，由关系词（相
当于代词作用的叫做关系代词；相当于副
词作用的叫做关系副词）引出。定语从句
在初中英语中只是初步学习，因而在中考
命题中主要是以考查引导定语从句的关系
代词。
考点一◎关系代词的选择
1.由 that引导的定语从句，that 既可指人也可指物，它在定
语从句中作主语或谓语动词的宾语。它作宾语时常可以省
略。

考点二◎关系副词的选择
由where引导定语从句表示地点，when引导定语从句表示时间，where
或when相当于介词+which。当把先行词放回从句中，要加上一个介
词时，就用which，不需要加时就用where或when。

考点三◎that和which的区别
1. 不用that 而用which 的情况
(1) 介词后不能用that。
(2) 先行词本身是that时。

2. 只能用that的情况
(1) 不定代词（如：anything, nothing, something, the one, all等）作先行词时，只能用
that ，不用which。
