Project Objectives (1)
• IST-Mentor+ will extend mentoring services to ACCs not
participating in IST-Mentor project, relating to IST Key
Actions of the 6th EC RTD FP.
• IST-Mentor+ will integrate the NCPs for IST and the IST
multipliers from these 6 ACCs in the network of NCPs and
IST-multipliers from the other 7 ACCs and the 12 NIS that
are already participating in IST-Mentor and TRISTAN-East
• IST-Mentor+ aims to: support and strengthen the NCPs
from the ACCs by developing a capable and proficient
network of IST multipliers in the ACCs.

What is a multiplier?
• Individuals or Organisations able to help other organisations or
persons in their own country on the writing of successful
proposals for the EU Frameworks. The focus is on proposals in
the field of Information Society Technology (IST)”.
• Can be: SME’s academic institutes, private/public consultants
• Should have vested interest and will volunteer their staff’s
time in exchange for the valuable hands-on knowledge they
will gain from their mentors

What do multipliers have to do
• Participate in the training and do the SWOT analysis
• Compile their own client database
• Conduct IST programme awareness campaigns in each ACC.
(press releases to the local media, e-mails, telephone calls,
introductory seminars on FP6 and more specifically - on the IST
programme, formulated from material provided by the
Consortium partners).
• Guide organisations that would like to participate in the IST
programme to find appropriate Strategic Objectives and EU
partners in Calls for Proposals of FP6 or in Integrated Project
Consortia being formed in response to such Calls.
• Assist SMEs and larger or other organisations in the
development of full proposals or find project partners

WP 2. Preparations in the ACCs – Identify of IST
Multipliers (FFG, AT)
• Adapt the selection criteria of IST multipliers
• Compile lists of potential IST multipliers in each ACCs (IST
organisations, Academic Institutes or individual consultants)
• Promote the project and attract potential multipliers in each
ACCs
• Identify IST multipliers to receive tutoring (1st Workshop 4-8 per
country)
• Characterize the needs within each ACC
• Produce ACCs selected publications to promote IST benefits
and results

• Public Website (our showcase) allow interested parties
from the EU and other ACCs to create contacts with the

• The e-Mentoring facility (our tool for mentoring
multipliers) developed in IST-Mentor will be adapted and
installed in the website and will be operated by the
Scientific Director.

WP4. Mentoring Workshops (ECIL, IL)
• 2 rounds of one-week workshops in each participant ACC.
– 1st round: 4-8 participants in each country
– 2nd round: 1-3 multipliers selected (total 12)
• Presentations to be adapted by the EU partners according to
country needs.
Goal:
• To share knowledge of FP6 (FP5 experience), IST Progr. and
procedures to the IST Multipliers from the ACCs.
• To train ACC multipliers in raising awareness for IST assimilation
• To enhance the proficiency of the multipliers in forming/joining
strong Consortia.
• To enhance the proficiency of the IST multipliers from the ACCs in
assisting in development of effective project proposals.

WP7. Assessment and Evaluation (ECIL, IL)
• Internally: methodology, deliverables, Interim Assessment Report.
• Externally: Develop and monitor criteria e.g. No of multipliers
invited to the 1st workshops, No of multipliers finally selected for
mentoring, No of entities reached in awareness raising campaigns,
No of entities requesting possible partnership in IST project
proposals, No of proposals submitted from that country, number of
projects joined by ACC partners, etc.
• Monitor progress of the project and provide continuous feedback to
the Co-ordinator.
• NB. The Scientific Director, is also the Scientific Director of the ISTMentor and Tristan-East projects.
