AND-710/LAAS Page 17
Siting Criteria Development
• • • •
Siting Working Group has been formed to develop siting criteria for the CAT I LGF.
The LGF siting criteria document provides guidance to the Contractor to identify the optimum site which achieves CAT I LAAS operational requirements at a given airport.
One of the benefits of LAAS is the siting flexibility allowed by the system design. For example, there are no siting location constraints with respect to runway threshold as in terrestrial precision approach and landing systems (e.g. ILS, MLS).
Siting T&E and math modeling is being performed to define object free areas and critical areas around the LGF antennas.

Impact on Airport Operations
Constructability/ Cost
Environmental Contractor Will Use LGF Components to Collect Data During Site Survey
