Racks in UX15
• The layout and amount of racks was revised, we have now
~30% less racks in the cavern
• All racks have been procured and are right now at Point 1
• Next step: install as much as possible and start installing the
cable trays associated
• We start with all racks on US side; this will allow an early
installation of type 4 ID cable to US15
• We have to solve the problem of the powering of these racks.
From first analysis it looks like we do not need to bring
much power (no specific distribution system or
cooling)

2005 to 2007 planning
M.Kotamaki our planning officer, will present this Thursday
the result of very intensive analysis and planning done over
the summer (dedicated task force)
very critical are the 6 months just after the completion of
the BT and the final positioning of the barrel calorimeters in
the center of ATLAS
- cabling of the calorimeters
- cabling of the ID
In parallel
- installation of the barrel muon chambers
- endcap calorimeters assembly on the trucks
- testing of cryogenics and BT

Integration analysis
In the mean time our main worry is to understand the
details of all these operations and the possible conflicts
The devil is in the details !!!
As an example a problem just found and solved with the routing of a
cryo line of the LAr and the installation of a specific muon chamber
